Salmon Fishing Scotland River Tay Opening 2010.

Salmon Fishing Scotland River Tay Opening 2010.

The count down to the river Tay Opening day is now well and truly on.
There are 4 days to go until the salmon season gets underway on Friday 15th January 2010.
The weather has slightly abated with warmer day time temperatures and the ice flows have stopped making far better conditions for spring fishing although it is still very cold.
The Tay opening ceremony this year is at Dunkeld and is being organised by the river Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board in conjunction with the Dunkeld Tourist Board and all are welcome to take part in the celebrations. There will be an opening day gathering at 9.30am in the morning and an evening Ceilidh in Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland.
Any funds raised during the day will be put into River Tay Projects to benefit the future of the river.

This was Benchil on the lower Tay at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland today.
