Salmon Fishing Scotland Superb Spring Fishing on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland April 2013.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Superb Spring Fishing on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland April 2013.

It is another incredible spring fishing week on the Tay in Perthshire, Scotland with 150 spring salmon landed and some great stories.

Alison and Alan McNeil came to this incredible river through the Action Medical Research Auction a couple of years ago, due to personal circumstances they could not come last year but their day was worth waiting for. They had not been fishing on such a large river and had never caught a salmon so were taken aback immediately however it was not long until they were into the swing of things on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley.

Towards the end on the morning the fly rod was buckled over and the reel was singing. Alan successfully landed this cracking 12 pounds spring salmon with the aid of several helpers. Great stuff, haste yea back!

This was another super story from the lower Tay. David Urgias had never caught a salmon before today until he went for a day with the 2 Daves at Upper Scone. He had a day to remember catching 2 spring salmon. The first was under supervision, a sea liced 12 pounds beauty from Aitken Head on Benchil, then after lunch he successfully caught, landed and returned a 13 pounds spring salmon on his own from the bank. Well done on a great day.
