Salmon Fishing Scotland Early Spring Salmon fishing action from the lower Tay, Perthshire 2014.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Early Spring Salmon fishing action from the lower Tay, Perthshire 2014.

This week has seen some good spring catches on the river as the water settled down and allowed some serious fishing to start after the relentless floods and dirty water. The catches have been heartening and increased the hope of another good spring season.

A good spinger being played in Pitlochrie pool at Stanley.

Early February spring salmon fishing action from the lower Tay in Perthshire, Scotland on the Stanley beats.

The lower river was again coloured today due to rain but spring salmon were caught on the Murthly beats above the Isla system which means this weeks early run on the lower river is spreading. Let us hope the river settles again and the catches continue.
