Salmon Fishing Scotland Young Anglers first ever Salmon on Tay, Perthshire.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Young Anglers first ever Salmon on Tay, Perthshire.

The summer salmon fishing is picking up on the Tay, Perthshire as fresh salmon run the river due to the recent rains and much higher water levels. The first couple of days have seen better catches with over 50 salmon registered so far.
This is Luncarty pool on the lower Tay where late summer and autumn salmon can gather due to the location of the beat at the mouth of the Shochie and Ordie burns. It proved a great starting out point for 6 year old Lucas Cheng, grandson of beat ghillie Jimmy Chim.
Young Lucas Cheng with his first ever salmon caught on a flying c spinning from the boat in the Boat Hole at Luncarty. Well done and hopefully the first of many.
